Inshore vs offshore fishing
Inshore and offshore fishing are different experiences. Both can be excellent, but they serve different types of travelers and target different species.
Inshore fishing
Inshore fishing stays closer to the coast. It is often a good choice for families, beginners and guests who want action without a long run offshore. Common species include roosterfish, snapper, grouper, snook and jack crevalle.
Offshore fishing
Offshore fishing heads farther out into deeper water. It is the stronger choice for sailfish, marlin, tuna, mahi mahi, dorado and wahoo. Full day fishing is usually best for offshore trips.
Which is better?
Neither is always better. Inshore can be better for short trips and coastal action. Offshore can be better for serious anglers and larger pelagic species.
How to decide
Tell Wahoo your group size, experience level, date and target species. The team can recommend inshore, offshore, half day or full day based on your trip goals.
